Here are the results of our recent Patreon poll of what to do next on the site:
- 13 votes: Add video chatting to the chat room
- 12 votes: Let members upload videos to their profiles
- 11 votes: Let members share their current locations with the site (GPS) to see what's nearby
- 10 votes: Synchronize profiles on OlderGay.Men and talk.oldergay.men — photos, locations, bios, etc.
- 7 votes: Let Groups share local events with members in their area (weekly lunches, etc.)
- 7 votes: Add a Cities section with information about what to expect there, places to go, etc.
- 6 votes: Let members post personal updates, notifying members who follow them
- 6 votes: Add Add to my calendar links to Events, Meetups, etc.
- 6 votes: Make maps with dots for nearby Groups, Places, etc.
- 5 votes: Group geo-located items by country and province (list everything in New York, etc.)
- 4 votes: Add ratings for stories (with favorites linked from profile pages)

Duplicate Images

OlderGay.Men started with pictures. One of my goals when I remade the site four years ago was to root out all the duplicates that had crept into the collection. I came up with a system that worked well. Until it didn't. Due to a broken dependency. I tried to make friends with the folks involved, but they weren't into it.
I put a stopgap measure in place which, of late, has ensured duplicates instead of preventing them. I started searching for alternatives. An old friend came to town and dragged me through assorted older men fleshpots. When I recovered, a new friend helped me get things working again this weekend. We're now updating the 11,000+ images which were added in the meantime. Hopefully, by the time you're reading this, we'll be on our way back to a more sensible set of pictures, and I'll be...

When you're browsing men now, you'll see a little envelope next to the name of anyone you've talked to before. If you click through to his profile, under the button to write to him, you'll find a link that brings up your previous conversations. Hope this helps clear out some of the clutter and helps you stay in touch with OGM friends.
Private Notes

Supporting members can now save private notes about other members. You can add them at the top of the other member's profile page or the bottom of conversations with him, and they'll also appear as you're browsing members at https://oldergay.men/users . We hope it's useful for storing phone numbers, birthdays, reminders of shared interests — anything you want to remember!
